04 Feb McLaren 570S
The ‘baby’ McLaren. The inverted commas are ours. After all, this may be the entry-level car, the first in the Sports Series range, slotting in below the Super Series (650S and 675LT) and Ultimate Series (P1 and P1 GTR), but it still packs a heck of a punch. The 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 develops 562bhp and 443lb ft of torque, and records identical acceleration times to the legendary F1 road car: 0-60mph in 3.2secs and 0-100mph in 6.3.
Like its siblings, it uses a carbon fibre chassis tub and seven-speed twin clutch gearbox, but to keep costs down it has no moveable aerodynamic devices, nor clever cross-linked adaptive suspension.
